The term "shooting power" typically refers to their use in airsoft pistols, BB guns, and paintball markers as a propellant. They are also used in:

• Pellet guns

• Air rifles (for powering certain types of actions)

• Inflators for life jackets, bicycles, etc.

• Sparklet bulbs for whippers (culinary cream dispensers)

Key Specifications to Discuss with a Factory

When you contact a factory, you must be precise. Here’s what to specify:

1. Thread Type (CRITICAL): This determines compatibility with the gun or device.

   • 12g Thread: The most common standard for airsoft and paintball.

   • 8g Thread: Less common, for specific devices.

   • Sparklet (Sodastream) Thread: For culinary uses.

   • CGA320 / 600: For larger commercial uses (not for 12g).

2. Material:

   • Steel: Most common, durable, and recyclable. Can be prone to rust if the finish is poor.

   • Aluminum: Lighter, corrosion-resistant, often considered premium. May be more expensive.

3. Finish:

   • Plain Steel: Usually with a clear oil coating to prevent rust (can feel greasy).

   • Nickel-Plated: Very common. Provides excellent corrosion resistance and a shiny, clean appearance.

   • Zinc-Plated: Good corrosion resistance, often dull gray.

4. Pressure Rating: They are typically filled to around 800-850 psi at 70°F (21°C). The cylinder itself must be rated for much higher (e.g., 3,000 psi) to have a large safety margin.

5. Certification & Compliance (NON-NEGOTIABLE): This is the most important factor. A legitimate factory will have their cylinders certified. Demand proof of:

   • DOT/TC Approval: (Department of Transportation / Transport Canada) for sale in North America.

   • CE/PED Approval: (Conformité Européenne / Pressure Equipment Directive) for sale in the European Union.

   • ISO 9001: Quality Management System certification for the factory itself.

6. Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ): Factories work on volume. Expect MOQs to be:

   • Per SKU: 5,000 to 10,000 pieces is a common starting point for a wholesale order.

   • Per Container: For the best price, you may need to order a full container load (20ft or 40ft), which can hold hundreds of thousands of cylinders.

7. Packaging: Specify how you want them packaged:

   • Bulk: Loose in a master carton (e.g., 100-500 pieces per box).

   • Blister Cards or Clamshells: For retail sale. This requires additional design and manufacturing.

   • Display Boxes: Small boxes designed for countertop displays.
